Providing health care that is accessible to everyone is part of Sawtooth Mountain Clinic’s mission. If you are uninsured, underinsured, are on Medicare or Medicaid, or have questions about the cost of care, we are here to help. SMC offers financial assistance for patients through payment plans and a Sliding Fee Scale Program, our Financial Access Navigator can answer questions about these programs as well as help with the insurance application and enrollment process.
Insurance Assistance
If you are uninsured or have questions about your insurance coverage, we can help. Call and ask to speak to our MNsure Navigator who is available to meet one-on-one with individuals and families.
Sliding Fee Scale Program
Our Sliding Fee Scale program allows us to reduce the normal costs of medical, dental, mental health, and other services for patients who qualify. All patients are encouraged to apply for the Sliding Fee Scale Program. Eligibility is based on the number of people who live in your household (spouse/partner, children/dependents) and the amount of money earned by the people in the household. Oral Health Task Force
The Oral Health Task Force (OHTF) is a homegrown solution unique to Cook County. OHTF provides community education on the importance of early preventative care and offers a generous financial assistance package that makes dental care at Grand Marais Family Dentist more affordable and accessible.
Minnesota’s Sage Breast & Cervical Screening Program
The Sage Screening Program is a partnership between the Minnesota Department of Health and health care providers like SMC. The goal of the Sage Screening Program is to provide access to quality breast and cervical cancer screening for Minnesota patients with low to moderate-income, who are un- or underinsured.
