Fully Staffed And Stocked, Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Pharmacy Is Now Open To Serve Community Members
Patients are encouraged to call ahead to the SMC Pharmacy’s new direct phone line – 218-877-8277 – to discuss needs and to transfer prescriptions.
(GRAND MARAIS, MN – February 2, 2021) After months of planning, construction, and recruiting, Sawtooth Mountain Clinic (SMC) announced today its new SMC Pharmacy is fully staffed, stocked with inventory, and open and ready to do business.
“The launch of the SMC Pharmacy is another major milestone in our 40+ year legacy of providing quality, affordable health care to our Cook County communities,” said SMC Board President Clare Shirley, “I applaud our community members on the SMC Board of Directors and the SMC leadership team for rising to the challenge of filling a significant gap in pharmacy services for our communities.”
Led by Chief Pharmacist Jeremy Gerspacher, Pharm.D., the experienced and knowledgeable pharmacy staff stand ready to serve community members. The Pharmacy will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm (closed from 12:30-1:00pm) and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
“To provide the most responsive service, we recommend you call the Pharmacy ahead of your visit to make sure we are prepared to meet your needs,” said SMC CEO Kate Surbaugh, “We are accepting most major insurance plans but every situation is different, so a call ahead will help us address your individual needs. And of course, we ask our customers to observe all the recommended COVID-19 safety protocols. Mask up and maintain social distancing.”

In addition to working closely with SMC Providers, filling prescriptions, and providing health care counseling, the SMC Pharmacy is also stocked with commonly used over-the-counter medications and other health care supplies.
